The United Nations
If you're looking for this event's flavor text, see The United Nations (flavor text).
The United Nations is a random event.
In the event, the U.N. tells you to go back 10 spaces (or 15 spaces if Angry or 20 spaces if Furious). If you say yes, you go back the stated amount of spaces. If you say no, you get a random subevent. (Subevents will change depending on the current anger level of the U.N.) (If you are Dead when choosing, you simply leave the event instead.)
- This event's name can change to include Angry or Furious depending on the U.N.'s anger level.
- The U.N.'s anger level can randomly go up from standard to Angry for all Standard [No] subevents below or from Angry to Furious for all Angry [No] subevents below (except for the actual Angry subevent, which is guaranteed to make the U.N. Angry.)
- The U.N.'s anger level can randomly go down to Angry from Furious or to standard from Angry if a player complies with the U.N.'s initial demand, choosing [Yes].
- The U.N.'s anger level will go down to Angry from Furious if the atom bomb is launched as a Furious subevent, though it won't go down if the bomb is launched by The Lever.
- Note that the U.N.'s anger level is managed such that any anger change will affect this event for all players.
- The Angry U.N. subevents below will always make the player who chose [No] the new atom bomb target. The atom bomb's target can also be changed by The Lever. Only 1 player can be targeted at a time.
[No] Subevents[edit | edit source]
Standard[edit | edit source]
- A Reprimand- Nothing occurs (excluding the potential anger rise.)
- Angry- The U.N. becomes Angry. It's also possible that they'll transport you back 10 spaces.
- Confusion- Move 10 spaces forward.
- Information- You get info on the real life United Nations. Effectively nothing happens mechanics-wise (excluding the potential anger rise.)
- Kidnapped- You are Blinded, you lose 6-7(?) Rupees, and you go back 5 spaces.
- Paraguay- You move 10 spaces randomly forward or backward.
- Soldiers!- You steal a Gun from some U.N. soldiers.
- They're Shooting!- The U.N. sends soldiers who begin shooting at you. You can run up to 40 spaces back, with a lower chance of being shot the more spaces you run. If you are hit, you move 25% of your spaces back instead of the amount you typed in. (rounded apparently randomly, max. 50) If you aren't hit, you move no further spaces back. Note that being shot won't affect you if you are Bulletproof. Also, you can use your "No." skill instead of running backwards any spaces in this subevent.
- Diplomacy (for Lawyers only, though not guaranteed by being Lawyer)- You move 6-11 spaces forward.
Angry[edit | edit source]
- A Reprimand- Nothing occurs (excluding the Atom Bomb being aimed at you.)
- Confusion- You move 15 spaces forward.
- Kidnapped- Randomly you are Blinded, 10 Rupees are stolen from you, and you move back 5 spaces OR you are Blinded and killed.
- Paraguay- You move 15 spaces randomly forward or backward.
- Peace Treaty- You move 25 spaces back.
- Secret Agent- The U.N. steals an item from you. (Soulbound items can't be stolen.)
Furious[edit | edit source]
- Atom Bomb- Can only occur when the atom bomb is already targeted at a player. The U.N. launches an atom bomb at the targeted player. It will land on the target's space (even if they move) upon continuing.
- All players within a 5-space radius of the landing spot are killed. All players within a 15-space radius of the landing spot without being within a 5-space radius of the landing spot are moved 23-30(?) spaces in the direction away from the landing spot, then they gain Skip-A-Turn. All players within a 30-space radius of the landing spot without being within a 15-space radius of the landing spot are moved 11-20(?) spaces in the direction away from the landing spot, then they gain Skip-A-Turn.
- All players within a 30-space radius of the landing spot (including players who died in the kill radius) receive 7 turns of Radiation Sickness.
- Radiation Immunity prevents gaining Radiation Sickness.
- The Radiation Global Effect begins applying for the rest of the game if it is not yet applying.
- Banana items in all inventories (including non-player inventories) transform into Radioactive Banana.
- Banana Peel items in all inventories (including non-player inventories) transform into Radioactive Banana Peel. (Set Banana Peels are not turned into Radioactive Banana Peels.)
Notes[edit | edit source]
- If the player whom the atom bomb is targeting has left the game before this subevent occurs or leaves right before the bomb's impact, none of the above occurs except that the U.N. will still calm down a bit and become just Angry.
- If the player who chose [No] is Dead upon continuing from the launch, none of the above occurs except that the U.N. will still calm down a bit and become just Angry.
- If a player has the The Iron Giant skill, the Atom Bomb launch instead leads to the Superman event.
