Event Text[edit | edit source]

Upon encounter from Reference Time!:

The Doctor In The TARDIS

A blue box materializes nearby. A confused man steps out and takes a look around, then turns towards you.

'Excuse me. Earth, 21st century?'

You nod. If you hadn't known Doctor Who, you might have found this question weird, but alas.

'So. Right. Bit of a hasty follow-up question, but how would you like to travel through space and time?'
[Yeah, alright!][No thanks.]

Upon encounter from using the Sonic Screwdriver before becoming the Doctor's companion or after solving the Weeping Angel Mystery:

The Doctor In The TARDIS

A blue box materializes nearby. A man steps out and takes a look and turns towards you.

'You called?'

You nod.

'Right then! Time to see where we're gonna end up this time! You ready?'
[Yeah!][No thanks.]

Upon saying yes to the Doctor:

It's... Bigger On The Inside!
'I know. I love hearing it, though! So, what will it be then? Where would you like to go? All of time and space to choose from!'

The TARDIS is magnificent on the inside! You can't stop walking around, touching all the weird buttons, levers and gadgets! As for your preferred destination, you ponder...

[The Prehistory]
[The Middle Ages]
[The Future]
If the Weeping Angel mystery hasn't been solved yet:
[Become the Doctor's companion!]

Upon choosing [Become the Doctor's companion!]:

The Doctor's Companion
'Ahhh, right, excellent! You see... there's this... thing... It's bothering me.'

The Doctor remains silent for a short while.

'Right then! Let me explain!'

[Continue]

Upon continuing from The Doctor's Companion:

The Weeping Angel
'Right then! There's something strange going on, but I don't know where and I don't know when. Actually, I'm not even sure what! The measurements are off the scale though and that... thing that goes whoosh stopped going whoosh and that's never a good thing. Someone is using time manipulation here. I've got nothing to back this up, but my guts are telling me this is the work of Weeping Angels. Or better yet... a single Weeping Angel.'

You listen carefully.
[Continue]

Upon continuing from The Weeping Angel (initial):

The Weeping Angel
'Listen to me. This is extremely important. I need to locate this Weeping Angel, but I haven't a clue where or when to look. The TARDIS did bring me to you, though, so that's bound to mean something. She's clever like that.'

You nod, though you're not entirely sure what's expected of you.
[Continue]

Upon continuing from The Weeping Angel (secondary) or from using the Sonic Screwdriver before giving the correct location:

The Weeping Angel
The Doctor walks around nervously, checking some monitors and occasionally playing with a bouncy ball.

'How do you hide from me so well. How did you get so... clever?'

Alright. If you've got an idea where the Weeping Angel might be, it might be wise to tell the Doctor:
[TypingField][Tell him!]
[I've got no idea.]

Upon giving an incorrect location in The Weeping Angel (tertiary):

Not Quite
You tell the Doctor what you know.

'I'm not sure what that would have to do with anything!'

Hmmm, damn!
[Continue]

Upon saying you've got no idea in The Weeping Angel (tertiary):

The Weeping Angel
'She's using advanced technology to hide her whereabouts. Or wait... maybe it's ancient technology?'

You nod casually. You don't have a clue what to do!

[Continue]

Upon giving the correct location in The Weeping Angel (tertiary):

The Haunted Mansion
'The Haunted Mansion? Of course, at the Graveyard! Not only does it seem like a likely location for a Weeping Angel to hide, but it also corresponds with these readings! Oh, PlayerName! I could kiss you right about now! Let's go!'

Sweet!
[Continue]

Upon continuing from The Haunted Mansion (initial):

The Haunted Mansion
The TARDIS materializes at the Haunted Mansion's Graveyard. You step out of the TARDIS and... well, you'll be damned! There's no Weeping Angel! And you were so sure there was one.

'Hmmm, there definitely was an Angel here, but where did she go? Time to investigate and solve this mystery! You go ahead and head inside the Mansion. I'll scan for clues down here.'
[Let's go!]

Upon encounter from the Sonic Screwdriver after giving the correct location but before unlocking The Secret Room:

The Haunted Mansion
'I did find traces of the Weeping Angel at the Graveyard, but there was still no clue as to where the Angel is hiding. You should investigate the rest of that place! Allons-y!'

The TARDIS fades away and materializes inside the Haunted Mansion!

[Continue]

Upon using a Sonic Screwdriver to unlock the Secret Room:

Sonic Lockpicking
If there's one thing you know about Sonic Screwdrivers, it's that they're excellent lockpicking equipment! You aim your Sonic at the lock and it starts to make a whirring noise.

After a few seconds you hear a distinct click and the door unlocks! Awww yeah, secrets!

[Continue]

Upon entering the Secret Room for the first time from Sonic Lockpicking (without Arcane Vision):

What The...

You enter the Secret Room and... what the hell is this? It looks like the Baron may have been into cows. A lot. That's so damn weird!

'Oh hello! What's this then? Oh, I like this! Really well decorated! And... what's that? There's... an incredibly strong Perception Filter here...'

The Doctor wiggles his Sonic Screwdriver around and tries some timey wimey things.

'This is brilliant! It's so strong that I can't even break it. This is definitely some ancient, lost technology! If only there was a way to break it! I've got to do some research. Keep me up to date, PlayerName!'
[Continue]

Upon entering the Secret Room for the first time from Sonic Lockpicking (with Arcane Vision):

Perception Filter Penetrated

You entered the Secret Room again and... woah! You didn't quite expect to find this!

The Doctor enters the room.

'Now this is more like it! Weeping Angel Technology. I've never seen anything like it. It's... mixed with human technology! Oh, I like this!'

The Doctor keeps on talking to himself and scans the device. Meanwhile, you check out the console of the computer. It's almost like the Angel is inside the device.

Hey, what's that?
[Continue]

Upon encounter from the Sonic Screwdriver after entering The Secret Room without Arcane Vision before giving the correct answer in A Matter Of Perception (initial) OR upon encounter from the Sonic Screwdriver after reaching the Still Weird subevent below (both of the 2 before entering the Secret Room again with Arcane Vision directly from the First Floor in The Haunted Mansion):

A Matter Of Perception
The Doctor seems both frustrated and enthusiastic at the same time.

'It looks like a class 5 Perception Filter, but I can't penetrate it, even though I'm aware it's there. This is not ordinary. I love it!'

If you've got a plan to counter the Perception Filter, tell the Doctor:
[TypingField][Tell him!]
[I've got no idea.]

Upon giving an incorrect answer in A Matter Of Perception (initial):

Not Quite
You tell the Doctor what you know.

'No. No, that doesn't seem likely.'

Hmmm, damn!
[Continue]

Upon saying you have no idea in A Matter Of Perception (initial):

A Matter Of Perception
'The design of this Perception Filter has to be extraordinary! I can't wait to get my hands on whatever's behind this! It reminds me of the Perception Locks made by the Arcane Masters of Gallifrey.'

You nod casually. You don't have a clue what to do!

[Continue]

Upon giving the correct location in A Matter Of Perception (initial):

Arcane Vision
'Arcane Vision? I've read about ancient Rings with such power! I assumed they were fables, but most fables have solid roots in reality. Hmmmmm. I know just who can help us with this!'

Let's go!
[Continue]

Upon continuing in Arcane Vision:

Dorium Maldovar
The TARDIS materializes at some kind of tavern, possibly in space and probably in the future. Behind a table you see a fat, blue humanoid alien with a smug smile on his face. He seems quite happy to see the Doctor.

'Doctor! What a pleasure and might I say, a surprise, to see you here! Before you say anything, let me assure you I greatly regret what befell you on Arcturus 3. Had I known at the time that the Judoons would use my Quantum Compiler for...'

'Just drop it, Maldovar! I'm here on urgent business and I know you'll be able to supply me with what I need.'
[Continue]

Upon continuing in Dorium Maldovar (initial):

Dorium Maldovar
After a short talk Dorium Maldovar turns himself to you. On his table lie several items.

'These should suit your purposes. The payment has been arranged for, so tell me which of these you'd prefer.'

[RingOfArcaneVisionButtonLarge][MagicCarrotButtonLarge]

Upon selecting an item in Dorium Maldovar (secondary):

Ring Of Arcane Vision/Magic Carrot
You point at the Ring Of Arcane Vision/Magic Carrot. Dorium smiles and nods gently.

'The deal has been done and I wish you well on your quest. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got an urgent appointment.'

[ItemImage]

You accept the Ring/Magic Carrot and leave with the Doctor. Time to travel back to the Secret Room!
[Continue]
If you chose the Magic Carrot:

HINT: Use your Magic Carrot now if you wish to discover what's behind the Perception Filter!

Upon continuing without having Arcane Vision after receiving Dorium Maldovar's item:

Still Weird

You enter the weird cow themed Secret Room again. Apparently the Perception Filter the Doctor was talking about is still in effect.

[Continue]

Upon continuing while having Arcane Vision after receiving Dorium Maldovar's item:

Perception Filter Penetrated

You entered the Secret Room again and... woah! That was not there before!

[Continue]

Upon continuing from Perception Filter Penetrated:

The Weeping Angel Interface
[ItemImageSilhouette]
Alright, then! You accidentally touched a button on the console panel and managed to display a weird image on the screen. You see a lot of purplish wiggly things, but... it looks like there's something in there. Damn, it's hard to make out!

Meanwhile, you're starting to feel... things. You feel sad. Scared. Desperate? You're immediately quite sure these feelings are not your own. Someone or something in here is in big trouble.

At any rate, you're not quite sure what to do.

[Continue]

Use an item:
[ItemImageSmall]

Upon continuing from The Weeping Angel Interface:

Leave
'I'm going back to the TARDIS to think this over. Contact me if you know more!'

Well, you'll have to solve that mystery some other time then...
[Continue]

Upon encounter from the Sonic Screwdriver after leaving The Weeping Angel Interface (unless the mystery's been finished through The Haunted Mansion):

The Weeping Angel
'There's something weird about that Weeping Angel computer. I can't quite put my finger on it. It's like the Angel is still in the room, but... different. Let's inspect it some more! Allons-y!'

The TARDIS fades away and materializes inside the Haunted Mansion!

[Continue]

Upon continuing from The Weeping Angel (directly above):

Perception Filter Penetrated

You can now clearly see through the Perception Filter. You know exactly what's there and it cannot hide from you anymore.

You decide it'd be best to investigate the interface again.

[Continue]

Upon using an item in The Weeping Angel Interface:

Success
You grab your X and hold it against the screen. The machine immediately responds by absorbing it!

'What did you do? What. Did you do? Step back!'

The machine bursts into smoke and a vague image of a Weeping Angel appears. She looks at you, less terrifying than you'd imagine. You feel gratitude. Relief. A sense of... urgency? The image turns around, then fades away.

The Doctor remains silent and slowly lowers his Sonic. He seems to be contemplating something very serious.
[Continue]

Upon continuing from Success:

The Restored Angel
'I was all wrong. The Angel wasn't the one trying to create the rift. Someone else used the Angel to do it. And he changed her to do so. This Angel did not cease to live when we looked at her. Almost as if...'

'...right. You.'

The Doctor points at you and smiles.

'You're more clever than I thought! And I've got just the thing for you!'

[Continue]

Upon continuing from The Restored Angel:

Mystery Completed
The Doctor hands you some items:

The Soulstone and Ethereal Gloves remained after the computer burst into smoke. You can make good use of them!

'Thanks for your help, PlayerName. I couldn't have done this without you. You deserve a special reward!'

Man, you completed this mystery like a boss! You're the best! You realize you're complimenting yourself right now, but who cares? You rock!
[Continue]

Upon continuing from Mystery Completed:

Time For A Reward
The Doctor smiles at you.

He hands you his Sprig Of Celery. 'I used to always carry this around. It was a habit that served me well. Saved me quite a few times from mortal danger! But alas, times change. Here, you can have it!'/
He hands you his Contained Huon Particles'Huon Particles are extremely dangerous. They attract other Huon Particles, no matter how far apart they are. These have been contained in golden amber and can be safely used to teleport to a random nearby location. Quite handy to get out of pesky situations!'/
He hands you his Bottle Of Nanogenes.'Nanogenes are amazing technology. There... have been accidents with these in the past, but this batch should have been programmed correctly.'
[ItemImage]

'I've also got some rare and powerful gadgets. Feel free to take one!'

[GallifreyanTimeWatchButtonLarge][QuantumCrystallizerButtonLarge]

Upon selecting an item in Time For A Reward

Gallifreyan Time Watch/Quantum Crystallizer
'Now this is a nice piece of technology. An ancient Gallifreyan design that will never fail. Use this with care, because time is a wibbly wobbly chaotic ball of dangerous string!'/
'Temporal events always leave behind energy. This device does what Weeping Angels do: it solidifies the temporal energy, allowing it to be stored and used. Quite nifty, especially if you're a time traveller!'

[ItemImage]

'Please, let me know when you're ready to save the world again!'
