Playstyle[edit | edit source]

Strengths[edit | edit source]

  • Compose generates items from the generic item pool faster than any other class (barring something like Saboteur targeting Improbaglitchity Device or Instability Device), and Lexicon has 8 item choices from the get-go.
  • Can move a large amount of spaces in the endgame with Food. Notably, unlike Speed-reliant movement from rolls, Food-reliant movement can be used outside of your own turn.
  • Spaces from Split add up decently over time.
  • Compose creates Duplicate items, so you can have multiple copies of the same item. (Spork, Bike, Dino Mount, and Buyback Bot are noteworthy examples.)
  • Lexicon contents are private information; you can very suddenly surprise players with a strong item like a Phaser, even if they've been diligently watching the log.
  • The Lexicon can act somewhat like Magic Hat, holding 8 not-yet-created items that other players cannot destroy.
  • Using Words Of Power's Gluttony in the endgame can surprise players with sudden Food moving a large amount of spaces. Explore, Superiority, and Zoof are other strong Words.
  • Split can dispose of junk items like Jinxed Jewel Of Encumberment.

Weaknesses[edit | edit source]

  • Stockpiled Food cannot be eaten if you are Unable To Eat Or Drink; in particular, Warlock's Libido Fiend can disable you from any range.
  • A Food stockpile can be gradually destroyed by Raccoon or Necromancer's Starving Ghoul. Additionally, Hungry Games and Stoned may force you to eat Food before an ideal moment. And you may also be Hypnotized into being a Vegan, such that several items in your stockpile are no longer usable.
  • Split requires a lot of item fodder, often costing a sizable amount of Rupees. Burning through fodder also leaves you more vulnerable to Fire/Liquidize/etc.; stealing (like with Sorcerer's Telekinesis) is particularly noteworthy here given the high value items Wordsmiths are likely to attain.
  • RNG can leave you with a disappointing selection for both Compose and Words Of Power.
  • Tasty Tongue Piercing, Butter Bot, and Bike are premium items for Wordsmith, and they're all vulnerable to ACME Magnet/Magneto Gloves.
  • Butter Bot and Bike invite targeting by Saboteurs (even if they don't see you as a threat) since they can be Sabo-Tinkered.
  • Wordsmith has such low cooldowns (esp. with Compose) that being disabled for a few turns will prevent several skill uses; notably, a "full" death can prevent 3 generic item pool rolls. Also, Mass Energize reduces your cooldowns by fewer turns overall for skills which have lower "single-use" utility than average.

Strategies[edit | edit source]

  • Stockpile Food items and stack Food effects such as Tasty Tongue Piercing (or alternatively Butter Bot), Bike, Spork, Race: Hogger, Omnivore, Race: Tigron, and Chef's Hat. (Generic effects like from Coffee and Dino Mount are strong, too.) This can allow you to move a huge amount of spaces in the endgame.
  • Be sure to Compose or otherwise gain Library Card and Platypus if you get a chance as they are 2 of the strongest items for this class. The former lets you buy many cheap Books for a ton of letters and spaces and isn't even consumed, so you can do so multiple times. The latter lets you get 2 spaces and 10 characters of your choice.
  • Clock synergizes quite well with the low cooldowns of Split and Compose. In particular, you can raise cooldowns, use Split once and Compose thrice, then repeat; your opponent's affected skills will only have their cooldown lowered by 1 turn overall each time, while you won't miss out on any Split or Compose uses of your own.
  • The Engineering Shop is a particularly good spot to find cheap fodder items containing many letters, such as Lightning Rod and Time Travel Condom.
  • Milking a Cow or Goat with a Bucket creates a Glass Of Milk, which can be Split for 2 Blanks; this process can be done repeatedly.
  • Smashing other glass items with a Hammer produces Broken Glass; Splitting this can also net you a Blank.
  • Words of Power won't refresh unless you spell one of the available words, so you may want to spell those as often as possible, to cycle through more words.
  • The most frequent letters for all the Words of Power spells are ELON.
  • You have to make the decision, how generously you want to be with spending blanks. If the class talent is active, you can save up blanks for creating artifacts. If you don't hope to get talents, you may as well spend them, to create more items and Words of Power.
  • Wordsmith has synergy with the Ooo reference event in particular.
    • Easy way of obtaining an Orb from Princess Bubblegum.
    • Prism of Ooo has 2 spaces in it for generating blanks.

Dual-Class Synergies[edit | edit source]

Enchanter[edit | edit source]

  • Magic Affinity and Condense Magic synergize well with Lexicon's Blank generation.
  • Condense Magic can be used to reliably create Crystals to be Split and used for Composing, and Condense Magic can also be used to choose among several Magic Scrolls with specific letters to be created, Split, and used for Composing.
  • Enchant can protect valuable Composed items.

Merchant[edit | edit source]

  • Trade Routes can be used to access The Magic Shop for synergy with Lexicon's Blank generation.
  • Trade Routes can be used to access various shops (and other events with the Talent) for items with specific letters to be bought, Split, and used for Composing.
  • Purchase can create items with specific letters to be bought, Split, and used for Composing.

Ranger[edit | edit source]

  • Supposing you gain a Cow (or Goat), it will become Soulbound, such that Tractor Beam, Lure Whistle, etc. cannot steal it. Additionally, Pack Leader can be used to reduce the cooldown of Cow (or Goat); this makes milk production for Blanks (from Glass Of Milk) both faster and more secure. Tracking even makes it easier to go to The Wild West and purchase a Bucket for this purpose.
  • Tracking's Crossroads can be used to access The Magic Shop for synergy with Lexicon's Blank generation.
  • Tracking's Crossroads can be used to access various shops (as well as other events like The Wild West's Wanted Posters) for items with specific letters to be bought, Split, and used for Composing.
  • Beast Mastery Talent activates any time you destroy a Living item with Split, and the Living items themselves can be generated by Compose and Pack Leader.
  • Compose can create Living items with cooldowns, cooldowns which Pack Leader can reset; Seal and Courier Flap are of particular interest.
  • For beating Crossroad's Archaeology Dig, Compose can create various helpful things for beating the challenges.

Priest[edit | edit source]

  • Radiance doubles all spells targeting another player. This allows you to create two blanks at the same time.
