Resurrection Phase

If you're looking for this Phase's events' flavor text, see Resurrection Phase (flavor text).

There are normally 2 potential loops in the turn structure with Resurrection Phases. The 1st loop it is a part of occurs between the Effects Phase and the Choose An Item Phase. The 2nd loop it is a part of normally occurs between the Choose An Item Phase and the Poll Phase. (U.N. Voting for Jason's Mask technically has its own phase between the Choose An Item Phase and the Poll Phase; as such, a loop can occur between the Choose An Item Phase and the U.N. Voting Phase and between the U.N. Voting Phase and the Poll Phase.)

  • The Phases in step 1 are cycled through, checking for the most recently queued event among the 2 Phases until a new event cannot be reached. Then, in step 2, a Resurrection Phase event is checked for. Steps 1 and 2 are cycled through until a new event cannot be reached in either step, at which point the loop is exited.

The turn player can only have an event in this phase if they are Dead, in which case they're guaranteed to have an event. If a player has an event in this phase besides It's Good To Be Alive or Reincarnation, this will be the last phase in the turn excluding a possible Forced End.

A Boss with a Death Timer of 1 or a player with The Time Stone can still have Reincarnation or FSM Afterlife instead of It's Good To Be Alive. A Boss with a Death Timer of 1 or 2 cannot have Deal With The Devil, Charon The Ferryman, Spirit Healer, The Cloning Facility, or Your Funeral, but a player with The Time Stone can.

If Wild Mode: Massacre Arena is active, you cannot have Reincarnation, Deal With The Devil, Charon The Ferryman, FSM Afterlife, Spirit Healer, The Cloning Facility, or Your Funeral. Also, you reach the It's Good To Be Alive event without any Death Sucks events per death. Also, a Boss's Death Timer does nothing as Wild Mode: Massacre Arena takes priority.

Events[edit | edit source]

  • Calling Of The Underworld- If you start your Resurrection Phase with a Calling Of The Underworld Debuff, you lose the Debuff and have this event. This event does not count towards the 3 count for reaching It's Good To Be Alive. In addition, it does not interfere with events occurring in subsequent Resurrection Phases that "can only occur as the first or second Resurrection Phase event after becoming Dead" as described below.
  • Death Sucks- Can only occur as the first or second Resurrection Phase event after becoming Dead. You get 1 event closer to reviving in It's Good To Be Alive. The base chance for the event to occur as the first event is ~87.5% and becomes ~50% with Totem Of The Beast.
  • It's Good To Be Alive- This is the Resurrection Phase event after already having 2 non-FSM Resurrection Phase events on the current Death (or earlier for a player with The Time Stone (including in an Infinity Gauntlet) or a Boss with a reduced Death Timer or while Wild Mode: Massacre Arena is active.) You revive and continue your turn normally with later phases.
  • Reincarnation- Can only occur as the first Resurrection Phase event after becoming Dead. You lose the Dead status (which is not considered to be a revival or natural revival), and you gain the Reincarnated effect with a random animal and 0 Karma. This event's chance to occur as the first event is increased significantly by Totem Of The Beast and by World Animal Day. The base chance for the event to occur as the first event is ~12.5% and becomes ~50% with Totem Of The Beast.
  • Charon The Ferryman- Can only occur as the first Resurrection Phase event after becoming Dead. You can pay a stated amount from 15-30 Rupees to move a stated amount forward from 5-15 spaces and instantly revive, or you can reject Charon's deal. (If you reject the deal, you get 1 event closer to reviving in It's Good To Be Alive as normal.)
  • FSM Afterlife- Can only initially occur as the first Resurrection Phase event while Dead. If the event is gone to for the initial Resurrection Phase event, it will be all subsequent Resurrection Phase events for you until you are revived. You roll 2 12-sided dice and move forward spaces equal to the rolled amount plus Speed, then go to a random subevent. The base chance for the event to occur as the first event is near 0%.
  • Spirit Healer- Can only occur as the first Resurrection Phase event after becoming Dead. You can choose to instantly revive with 3 turns of Resurrection Sickness, or you can reject the Spirit Healer's deal. (If you reject the deal, you get 1 event closer to reviving in It's Good To Be Alive as normal.)
  • The Cloning Facility- Can only occur as the first Resurrection Phase event after becoming Dead. You can pay 25 Rupees to gain a random Race and instantly revive, or you can reject the deal. (If you reject the deal, you get 1 event closer to reviving in It's Good To Be Alive as normal.)
  • Your Funeral- Can only occur as the first Resurrection Phase event after becoming Dead. You can choose one of three Funeral options, or you can reject the deal. (If you reject the deal, you get 1 event closer to reviving in It's Good To Be Alive as normal.) The Funeral options are:
  • Cremation - You are set on Fire. In the Effects Phase of your following turn, you move 16-22 spaces forward.
  • Burial - You revive in the Effects Phase of your following turn and all your skill cooldowns tick down 1 extra turn.
  • Donation to Science - You receive 12-18 Rupees.
