Weaknesses[edit | edit source]

Strategies[edit | edit source]

  • Earthshaker's Fury is a particularly interesting case since you can simultaneously trigger KUTP (esp. w/Talent) and reset your Poseidon's Trident's cooldown in the same movement. (If you have Odd Todd's Frog Clogs in addition to Trident, you can use Poseidon's Trident to gain Earthshaker's Fury each turn; in this case, Clogs's forward movement will meet the threshold for the KUTP Talent. Clogs will also guarantee KUTP cannot trigger on the Trident itself (under normal circumstances) since its cooldown won't surpass 1 turn.)
  • Pegasus Boots, Odd Todd's Frog Clogs, and Dragon Boots reliably trigger KUTP. Rocket Boots can unreliably trigger KUTP as well.
  • Consider saving Cheerful Song for a crucial moment if you think a player wants to kill you.
  • Buy cheap items in shops before using Charismatic Smile to increase the odds of (or guarantee) getting high-value items, like ACME TNT and Spider Mine. If you get a Wildcard: Traveling Salesman, Diss Card: Shift from Willy Futterwacken's Traveling Diss Card Emporium is of particular interest; to guarantee getting it, you can buy out the rest of the shop for 82 Rupees.
  • Plot Twist can protect you from standard non-player spellcasting events and redirect negative Spells to others; in particular, Pocket Balling Salem and getting Orb/Books from Mystical Bob are options you can more easily seek out, and you can dodge a significant setback from Saruman.
  • Beware that, unless you have the Plot Twist Talent, another player can essentially bypass your Plot Twist by casting a strong Dark Spell like Polymorph followed by a weak one like Blind; a 2nd layer of spell protection is ideal.
  • If the Ooo reference event is chosen, Plot Twist serves as a defense against the increased number of Spells cast related to Orbs. Additionally, moving forward with Jake the Dog or trading Bacon for Bacon Pancakes allows triggering KUTP.
  • If the Dr. Who reference event is chosen and you have Arcane Vision, you can use the Arcane Portal to visit Shady Dealer for Cocaine or visit the Catapult to launch yourself forward, triggering KUTP twice. Also, Charismatic Smile can reliably net a 10+ Rupees item from the Medieval Market after buying Boots, Gloves, and Skinning Knife.
  • If the Board Game Of Thrones reference event is chosen, you can become a Stark for Boots, for a reliable Sword from using Charismatic Smile at The Blacksmith, and for a Speed Boost from the Godswood Tree. The backwards Catapult will also let you trigger KUTP twice if you launch yourself, which is worthwhile if you happen to have Slipstream Slingshot.
  • If the Interdimensional Portal Gun reference event is chosen, the Portal Gun itself reliably triggers KUTP. Courier Flap from Cronenberg World and moving backward in Fantasy World trigger KUTP as well.

Dual-Class Synergies[edit | edit source]

Enchanter[edit | edit source]

  • Speed boosts that Enchanter has access to in general help with triggering Keep Up The Pace when rolling. In long games, you can even trigger the KUTP Talent on every roll with 10+ Speed (or just basic KUTP with 8+ Speed.) Magic Affinity, Momentum from Condensing Fairy Crystal, Acceleration from Condensing Happy Crystal, as well as Lolrus, Ninjas, and Cocaine from Cards Of Fate from Condensing Happy Crystal can help with the Speed requirement.
  • Arcane Relocation can trigger the Keep Up The Pace Talent if you focus on gaining Speed; you require 20+ Speed for the KUTP Talent with Arcane Relocation unless you have the Arcane Relocation Talent, in which case you need 8+ Speed. (Without the KUTP Talent, you need 16+ Speed or 6+ Speed with the Arcane Relocation Talent.)

Merchant[edit | edit source]

  • Trade Routes allows you to frequently visit shops for use of Charismatic Smile. In particular, you can visit The ACME Shop and use Charismatic Smile to gain Hypno Glasses or preferably ACME TNT. After doing so, sell the high value item to the Pawn Shop. Then, in future visits, ideally buy out all the cheap items in the Pawn Shop, then regain the high value item from the Pawn Shop with Charismatic Smile and resell it to the Pawn Shop.
  • Keep Up The Pace can be more reliably triggered when rolling by raising Speed with Acceleration, Soul Speed, and Momentum; Trade Routes allows visiting The Magic Shop for these Spells.
  • ACME Rocket (ideally with a death blocker) and Explosive Sheep can be used to reliably trigger Keep Up The Pace (including w/Talent.) Hand Grenade and Rocket Boots can unreliably trigger KUTP as well.
